Event Title: Music to Cool You Off a free Swingtime Concert
Event Story: It's hot outside, but we have just the kind of cool that will refresh you! Don't forget your picnic dinner-it's the second of our three Not-in-the-Park Summer Picnic Concerts where you can listen to great music by Swingtime and dine in air-conditioned comfort. Vocalists will be Len Fallen and the Swingtimers Vocal Trio. Guest Conductor will be Teddy Zadlow The concert is free and tickets are not required. The Swingtime ensemble of the Melbourne Municipal Band also presents dances, featuring jazz and Big Band standards. Swingtime's dances have long been a favorite of local dancers and jazz lovers looking for a reasonably priced, toe-tapping evening. This 22-piece band is directed by Art Martin, a tenor and baritone saxophonist. Art has performed with the Jimmy Dorsey Orchestra, Dizzy Gillespie, and The Platters, to name just a few.
