Event Title: JOEL GREENBLATT and RISING STARS 2.0
Event Story: Joel Greenblatt, band leader, professional trombonist and jazz promoter is featuring local jazz icons on the same stage as Brevard’s up and coming artists. Greenblatt says: “The concert will be like young meets old as we celebrate the lineage of jazz in Brevard County. It will be a true celebration of life, love, and jazz in Brevard County.” The concert program will also include a selection from the Ella Fitzgerald songbook as a tribute to the Queen.
Greenblatt's Rising Stars initiative supports the next generation of jazz musicians in Brevard County. “Several young artists have used the previous 2013 Rising Star concert to jumpstart their careers,” says Greenblatt, such as pianist Mason Margot and guitarist Matt Heister.
