| SCL Needs the Help of Its Users to Update the Site

Someone recently pointed out that a venue listed on SCL was no longer in business, and that having defunct venues (and bands) listed on SCL reduced SCL's credibility and usefulness to the community. I agree. We could force bands and venues to regularly ''renew'' their information and delete the ones that don't, but my experience says that would cause more trouble than benefit. So I need your help to update the SCL venue and band information.
I don't have the time to call all the venues listed on SCL, to ask ''Are you still open, and are you still hosting live music?'' If you see one listed on SCL that you know is closed, has changed names, has stopped hosting live music, etc., send us a note. Be specific as to what you telling us, and include your name and an email in case I need to follow-up with you. You can use the pick-list available on the ''contact us'' form at http://www.spacecoastlive.com/contact.html, or send an email message to: bob @ spacecoastlive.com.
Bands are harder to keep up to date. There's no way for me to know whether a band is active or not, except when I see it listed in the Calendar, or I see the band has updated its info on SCL. If a group disbands, I rarely get a ''Hey, you can take our listing off.'', and even if I do, I have to make sure the info is for real, and not coming from a band member who just left the band, or someone with a lousy sense of humor. So like with the Venues, if you know a band is no more, tell us, but identify yourself in case I need to follow up. Anonymous messages will be ignored.
That's it. SCL is a community resource. It needs the involvement and help of the community to be as useful and informative as possible.
